vitality child goals and resolutions

It’s somehow already April. Before we know it, it’s going to be summer! I mean, I get that the world turns and seasons change, but it never ceases to amaze me how quickly new months seem to pop up. So yeah – that’s weird. Anyway! We’re four months into 2016, so I thought it might be interesting to take a quick pulse-check on my resolutions since we’re already nearing being a third of the way done with the year. I also wanted to share some of my goals for the new month! I always seem to make the most personal progress between January and June, so this time of year–April, especially–is pretty critical. Here we go!

My 2016 resolutions* were…

  • Stay consistent with healthy living.
  • Rebrand TSB.
  • Decide on + enroll in further health/wellness/fitness education + certification class or program.
  • Run 13.1 miles.
  • Sell clothes.

*I shared my fitness resolutions in THIS post, but I also made a list of personal + professional resolutions that I kept off of the blog. This list, while abridged, includes items from all of those categories!

I mean… 😉 {Source.}

How I’m doing:

  • Stay consistent with healthy living.

This is going really well. Even with a move–which is typically a life event that would throw-off my health-and-fitness game in a major way–I’ve stayed on track and consistent for the past three months. Working out has served as my constant and has really anchored me. The SELFxTIU Challenge was the perfect way to kick-off the new year…it really re-ignited my passion for working out, living intentionally, and viewing exercise as “me time” of the highest form. Right now, I’m back to running almost daily (something I’d been seriously missing!) and I’m feeling strong and healthy.

  • Rebrand TSB.

Clearly this happened! TSB is no more–we’re VITALITY CHILD and loving it these days. I put it off for as long as I could, but I feel so much better after finally taking the plunge in February.

  • Sell clothes.

LOL, nope. I finally cleaned out my closet, sorted things out, and donated a ton of stuff, but there’s still a lot of other apparel that’s taking up space because I haven’t actually made progress with photographing, pricing, or posting any of it. It just seems tedious and overwhelming, and the thought of the $$$ I could potentially make isn’t super motivating. (And yet, it is somehow motivating enough that I didn’t just donate everything I was ready to part with?) I don’t know. This is something I need to get done!

  • Decide on + enroll in further health/wellness/fitness education + certification class or program.

In progress! I recently (like, mere weeks ago) enrolled in a yoga teacher training program, and in May, I’ll be starting a sports and exercise nutrition certification program. I’m a total info junkie, so even though I don’t have a totally concrete plan about how I’m going to utilize these new credentials, I’m excited to simply be doing them.

  • Run 13.1 miles.

No go. Still not back on my long run game. I do a lot of intervals, and 3-mile jogs, but anything over 5 miles is still pretty daunting. i’m not 100% sure that this is a resolution I’ll actually complete this year, and I’m actually kind of ok with that.

New Goals for April:

You make you. Create yourself.

Do you have any goals for the month? How are your resolutions coming?! Let’s chat! 🙂

  1. I had the goal of selling some clothes and other items as well but I put it off for so long that I just decided to go ahead and donate all of it. Sure, I could have made some money, maybe even enough to be worth the trouble, but was much easier to just get rid of it all at once. Plus, with donating I knew it was going to benefit others.

    • So true! I feel like I’m getting to that point, actually…It’s just SO much easier to donate and be done with it AND you’re helping others, like you said! Thanks for reading, Reese!
