Feeling down? Here’s a collection of eight pro-tips for wellbeing + to remind you of your inherent awesomeness. Common sense? Maybe. But sometimes you all need is an extra shot of positivity.

1. People actually WANT to help you.

While asking for help isn’t exactly fun, it’s important to know that most people–and especially the people who love you–actually want to help you. It’s hard to be helpful when you don’t know what’s going on, though, so you have to speak up.

2. You get to choose how you feel about everything.

This one is a game-changer for a lot of people…it’s a subtle mindset shift that produces crazy clarity. While you might not be able to change the outcome of any given situation, you CAN always choose how you view it, and in turn, how you feel about it. You’re in complete control over your feelings.

3. No is a complete sentence.

You don’t need to justify everything–or anything–all of the time. Say no and move on.

4. You don’t have to like everyone.

I meeean, really. You don’t. Some people don’t deserve your admiration/friendship/attention. Not wanting to be BFFs with every person on the planet doesn’t make you a bitch.

5. You only really see the highlight reel of other people’s lives.

The comparison trap? Totally real. Social media is awesome, but it doesn’t show 100% of what happens 100% of the time. Don’t compare your day-to-day reality with whatever people are posting on FB or IG.

6. You shouldn’t feel guilty for taking care of yourself.

You gotta take care of yourself, babe. Self-care is non-negotiable. It’s not an indulgence, it’s a necessity.

7. People actually WANT you to be predictable. 

I read this tip in an article about blogging and Instagram, but I think it has whole-life application. If you feel like you constantly need to change/adapt/reinvent yourself, here’s a reminder that you SO don’t. It’s actually kind of annoying when people do this? Just be you and do you.  Predictable, reliable, dependable. Of course, this isn’t to say you must act in the way that you always have, no matter, what for the rest of your life…it’s just an attempt to alleviate some pressure by giving yourself permission to be your true, normal self.

8. You don’t have to be good at everything.

We want to have it all, be it all, and make everything seem effortless, but that’s not real life! NO ONE is good at everything–you don’t have to be, either. Own your talents and ask for support when it comes to your weaknesses. Nobody’s perfect.
