We did it, guys! February is almost over! And hey – I did it, too! I’m another month down with my major 2016 fitness resolution of being fit ALL year. Score. Totally confused? I’ll clue you in quick. In my ‘How To Get Through February’ post, I made a quick mention of the new fitness plan and nutritional supplements I’ve been testing out–BeFit’s #befitallyear initiative. Today, we’re revisiting that in depth. {Sidebar: can you believe that it will be March on Tuesday?! Woo!} I’ve posted some sneak peeks of their awesome products on Twitter and Instagram, but today you’re getting ALL of the details. Thanks to a partnership with Fit Approach / Sweat Pink, I’ve been able to participate in BeFit’s #befitallyear campaign, a whole-life, healthy living program that combines a workout calendar, exercise videos, and new nutritional supplements to help you live your healthiest life possible. It’s an awesome 30-day kickstart that provides structure and accountability, perfect for keeping on track with your resolutions orrrr getting back on track 😉

BeFit totally lays it out for you, starting with their intro video to the 30-day program. From there, it’s super simple: you print/download/screenshot their 30-day calendar, and then follow along utilizing their workout video playlist specifically created for the challenge. 30 days is really ideal in terms of program length–it’s long enough to help you kick bad habits or start new ones and to see actual progress, but it’s also short enough that it seems doable and you don’t lose interest. While I personally don’t love following a super-detailed meal plan for a month {I find that experience to be a little too restrictive,} I’m very into a month-long workout calendar both for structure and also for testing out new workouts. The BeFit playlist for the program includes 10 high-intensity workout videos that are designed to whip you into shape ASAP. Though they’re pretty intense, each video clocks in at under 20 minutes, so they’re short, sweet, and really easy to fit into a packed schedule. It’s really motivating to know that something new is waiting for you each day of the plan, and that if for some reason I DIDN’T enjoy a particular work out, I could easily substitute with another video from the playlist. The Legs and Butt Shaper workout is my fave!

It wasn’t just workouts, though! BeFit also sent me a trio of their new nutritional supplements to try. I received BeFit ‘BURN’, BeFit ‘PRE’, and BeFit ‘WHEY’, a fat burner, pre-workout, and whey powder, respectively.

  • BURN is advertised as a “fat burner without the jitters,” and I definitely found that statement to be true. Instead of jacking you up with stimulants and tons of caffeine, BURN is designed to give you an edge with weight management using thermogenesis to metabolize fat, and by supporting healthy blood sugar levels and stabilizing appetite. I’m a major fan of the ingredients list, which includes things like cinnamon, green tea leaf extract, and capsicum, as well as prebiotics, probiotics and polyphenols. Directions state that you are to take two capsules of BURN 10 minutes before your largest meal of the day. I take mine with dinner, and I’ve noticed that if I pop the supplements right before I eat, I really do feel fuller faster, and I am able to eat less and still feel satisfied. As promised, there are no jitters, and the addition of the aforementioned pre- and probiotics helps keep bloat at bay and keeps my tummy nice and flat. It’s also vegan, GMO free, and gluten free. This is no ordinary fat burner, guys. I’m a big fan.
  • PRE is BeFit’s pre-workout drink…you might have seen it spotlighted on my Instagram as my “pink drink” 🙂 Pre-workout seems to really be having a moment in the fitness community, but BeFit’s is actually the first I’ve tried #latetotheparty. Fruit punch-flavored PRE aims to boost energy, endurance, and focus when consumed, and it’s sugar-free and contains only 5 calories per serving. You just add a scoop to cold water, shake or stir, and then drink up–PRE’s blend of natural BCAAs, guarana, B12, and electrolytes from organic coconut water powder provide energy, improve muscle endurance, and generally enhances workout performance. I’m not a big coffee drinker, so pre-workout is a great option for a little AM energy boost.
  • WHEY is BeFit’s signature whey protein powder. Not only is it ideal for post-workout muscle recovery, it’s also awesome for satisfying cravings and curbing hunger between meals. BeFit actually utilizes two forms of protein in this product: whey protein isolate, which is quickly absorbed and digested to help you feel fuller, and casein protein, which is slow-release and allows the amino acids a longer window of time to assist in muscle recovery. WHEY currently comes in two flavors, chocolate and vanilla, and can mix the powder into shakes on the go, or add it to goodies like protein pancakes, waffles, or other baked goods. It has 100 calories, 2 grams of carbohydrates, and 22 grams of protein per serving.
