VaselineIntensiveCareHeaderWhen it comes to winter beauty products, the more moisturizing, the better. Cold, dry winter air wreaks havoc on skin. We lust over cream blushes, ultra-emollient lip balms, and hydrating hair masks to keep us looking and feeling our best through the colder seasons. Dryness is the ultimate winter beauty woe. As far as cold weather must-haves are concerned, an ultra-hydrating lotion is pretty much a non-negotiable. It’s a cornerstone for maintaining pretty winter skin. A foundational item. A necessity. Winter skin has different needs, and one of those needs is a seriously moisturizing winter lotion. I’ve always sworn by overnight Vaseline treatments for both my lips and feet for combatting the effects of winter weather {lips: applying a nice thick layer after a gentle exfoliating scrub with brown sugar. Feet: generously coating my heels after taking a bath and sealing it in with the fluffiest socks I can find, FYI} so when the people at Vaseline reached out and offered to let me try their new Intensive Care Advanced Repair Lotion, I was totally game. It’s only December, and the weather has been much warmer than in the last few winters on record, but my skin has been absolutely craving moisture all the same–ESPECIALLY my hands. And not only do dry hands look gross {because let’s be real, cracks are never cute}, but they also tend to feel pretty awful–to you, and to anyone else they come in contact with. Major winter beauty bummer, no? Vaseline Intensive Care to the rescue!

This stuff made my skin CRAZY soft. Like, "that feels fake", soft. Obsessed.

Vaseline Intensive Care deeply moisturizes to heal dry skin…In fact, it’s clinically proven to heal very dry skin in only 5 days. You can kiss your winter skin woes goodbye in less than a week. Oh, and did I mention that it retails for only $4.99 {SRP}, and that you can find it at food, drug, and mass retail stores? Yeah–it’s kind of a no-brainer. You can find out more about the brand at their website at www.vaseline.us, but trust me when I say that this lotion is a winter must…It will help revive dry, cracked hands and bring back that pretty summer skin we’re all longing for.

Vaseline also sent me a sweet pair of "Freaky Freezies" color-changing gloves, which are both super warm and perfect for locking in all of their lotion's hydration. Pretty sure that these are going to become my mail run/dog walk gloves as temperatures continue to decrease. Don't judge. ;)

It works, guys. The Vaseline Intensive Care formula is creamy and lush, and it absorbs into skin quickly and without greasiness. I also appreciate that Vaseline made a fragrance-free variety of the lotion {which I received} so there are no additional or funky scents mixing with your favorite perfumes and body products. Fragrance can totally make or break a product, so it’s actually quite lovely that Vaseline has taken that element out of the equation entirely. I found that Vaseline Intensive Care made things smooth and supple instantly, but the true {and semi-insane} intensive moisturizing effects of the product REALLY become apparent after a few uses…My hands were left ultra soft and wrinkle free after using it for just two consecutive days, and my feet–which become notoriously dry and cracked in the winter–were no longer rough, scaly beasts after a week with TLC and Vaseline Intensive Care, which is kiiiind of amazing for a $5 product! A note on use: A little goes a long way, and you’ll likely find that you need less and less lotion each time you apply. {That means it’s working!} Unless you have extremely dry skin, you should be able to get away with using a pea-sized amount for both hands, and a quarter-sized dollop for both feet to start. Your mileage may vary, of course, but I found that it was better to start with a small squirt of the stuff and add more as needed than it was to go crazy and have to find random patches of skin to apply the extra lotion to! The more you know. 😉 This one is sure to become my winter ride-or-die. If you’re in dire need of a snowy skin fix, pick some up ASAP!

Now you know, cuties!

What are your beauty hacks for winter dryness? Have you tried this lotion?
