I’ve mentioned my love for fitness programs in a few posts, so it should come as no surprise that when I heard about a barre-based challenge, I HAD to check it out. Enter barre3’s 7 Day Body Blast, a short-term fitness and diet jumpstart designed to pique your motivation and inspire a visible change in physique. A daily date at the barre for the next seven days sounded like an awesome, attainable body boost–totally doable and actually kind of exciting, kind of like the way a 1-3 day juice cleanse is exciting, only centered on working out instead of, you know, juicing. Even better? The 7 Day Body Blast also features a nutrition component, focused on a super-fresh smoothie-soup-salad foundation. Yay for chewing!

barre3, if you’re unfamiliar, is a total-body, barre-influenced workout focused on balance, strength, and flexibility. Pulling influence from ballet, yoga, and Pilates, barre3 focuses on grace, lengthening, and health by using a combination of small, isometric movements and full-body stretches. It works, it works fast, and anyone can do it–pretty much anywhere. Oh, and the more you practice, the more challenging the workouts become! barre3 also has a TON of options for getting in a workout, from in-person classes to DVDs to a monthly subscription to their streaming library. They also have a (paid) mobile app filled with a collection of their shorter workouts. It costs $4.99, but that includes all  of the in-app workouts, daily tips, and recipes. Of course, if you’re just looking to get a feel for barre3, you can try their 30-minute “Standing Slim” workout for free on YouTube. Whether you’re into structure or prefer a more sporadic approach to working out, Barre3 has something for you.

…Back to the Body Blast, though. Each day of the plan, barre3 offers specific streaming video workout selections and recipes for three meals and one snack. Total time at the bar per day runs between 30 and 70 minutes, which is pretty close to the amount of time I spend working out on a daily basis anyway, and the meal plan, though it uses the same three food items each day, the flavors change frequently enough to keep things interesting and tasty. I’m starting next week. Did I mention that it’s only a week?! You (I) can commit to pretty much anything for a week. Especially if it blasts your (my) bod into killer shape. Easy.

Want to try the challenge for yourself? Head over to www.barre3.com/onlinefreetrial for 15 free days of online access. Nothing’s better than $FREE99 😉

xx,

Liza
